As Casolas
This former farm had been abandoned for over 40 years. There is an agricultural path that runs along the property next to the North fence and is intended to be restored with access to the scattered houses. The houses have been deployed so they do not interfere with existing trees, do not require deep changes in topography and one can enjoy the landscape without interference from other houses. The distance between the access road and the houses is accessible on foot and does not exceed 30 metres. Car parking is located near the service road, with a parking area close to each house.
Balance
Harmony involves the well-being of the visitor, their genuine desire to learn and share, to discover new vocations and hobbies.
Balance concerns the return to the origins and the contact with nature and activities that result from knowledge and know-how passed down over generations (in agriculture, crafts, local gastronomy).
At Monte das Casolas, we are in balance and harmony with what surrounds us. We believe in a more sustainable future, focusing on waste reduction, reuse and recycling. We also seek a healthier lifestyle by providing organic products planted on the farm, probiotic products, among others.
O Montado
Monte das Casolas is the place.
There are 8 Casolas, 5 made of wood, spread throughout the Montado.
We wanted to minimize the impact of construction and preserve this paradise untouched by
Mankind, returned to nature over the last 40 years.
We restored Casas do Monte, maintaining its typically Alentejo structure, with the wood oven and an animal corral converted into an annex.
There is also a Casa do Alpendre near the pool and common area.
In the common area, o Alpendre, we offer yoga classes, organic and healthy breakfasts, among other sustainable and original initiatives.
